Signs The Economy is Failing

For most people they get their news from local and mainstream media. The average person does not wish to involve themselves in politics or conspiracy theories, so they stay away from alternative media to their own demise. Over the last 2 years there have been many people who have warned of the pending collapse a.k.a. the "Everything Bubble". Some people have ignored while others have scoffed, but if you look around you it's becoming an "in your face" dose of truth.

Recently a Target was flash mobbed and robbed in Philadelphia which is causing a closure which is happening to large department stores all across America. The first class to feel the financial hardship of a recession, depression or even an outright economic collapse are the poor and homeless. As the homeless feel the crunch of money tightening because of inflation among other things they will find new ways to make up the difference.

Since the George Floyd Riots a few years ago a lot has changed in the policing of Americans. Having been homeless the last year and traveled from Florida to Ohio using hiking trails and greyhound I have noticed a change in policing. It seems like when it comes to the homeless the police are less combative and take more of a hands off approach, but what do you expect after what happened in Minnesota. Over the last year I have seen what used to be hidden become something that is now done publicly, especially open drug use. Because we lack the open dialogue to find a solution this will keep going from one extreme to another, give it a couple more years and the police will be back on the march after people beg for order. Until then this lack of Rule of Law will continue.

With the "hands off" approach to policing, the breaking down of the rule of law and the possibility of the worst economic downturn in 10,000 years these type of events will become normal. As the homeless and the poor realize there are little to no consequences for their actions, this will become a bigger problem as time goes along.

The overall cause and effect of all of this is that we as a country may lose our economy as it's being looted into a collapse. If a store cannot operate at a profit, that store goes out of business taking with it all the jobs, economic activity, and resource distribution with it. As the global population reached 10 billion humans, the less resource distribution means increased crime as people are forced to steal for their basics. All in all even though this is just the first blatant sign that the economy is failing, I think historically we will look back at these moments and realize that this was the beginning of the unraveling.
